There is something about the Northern hinterland that has the capacity to feel both refreshingly isolated and immersive. For the last 5 years, Sudbury, Ontario’s Up Here Festival has become home to one of the most innovative festivals in Ontario. Inspired by Festival de musique émergente (FME) in rural Quebec, Up Here is an immersive multi-media event, that transforms the city’s downtown core temporarily (fantastic shows pop up across the city for the festival’s duration) and permanently (large scale murals are left behind after the festival).
This year, Patrick Watson, Charlotte Day Wilson and Venetian Snares x Daniel Lanois round out Up Here’s cast of headliners. You can catch us presenting the showcase with stratospheric Canadian all-star rap group The Sorority and “pussy-core kitsch-hop trilingual partyrap” Donzelle. At the fest, you can check out mural installations courtesy of BirdO, Ben Johnston, PA System, Johanna Westby and Mariana Lafrance.
This year, we don’t want you to miss out on the fun so we’re giving away two weekend passes to the festival. Enter below!
