With apologies to Idris Elba, the news broke over the weekend that the upcoming installment in the James Bond franchise—tentatively titled Bond 25—is reportedly set to make history by featuring the first 007 to not fall under the umbrella of white or male. Lashana Lynch (who you may know as Brie Larson’s partner-in-crime from Captain Marvel earlier this year), is set to be the first woman to bring the code name 007 into a new era.

The Daily Mail has reported that an insider from the production of the latest Bond confirmed that among the rewrites to the script made by Killing Eve‘s Phoebe Waller-Bridge was to introduce a new, refreshingly character taking up James Bond’s retired 007 code name. “There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says, ‘Come in 007’, and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman,” the source said. “It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007.” People are stoked, to say the least…

… And given that she’s about to make history, I think it’s fair to assume we’re about to see a lot more of Ms. Lynch. To celebrate and prepare you for her impending cultural takeover, we’ve put together five facts to help you get to know the next 007.
