Miley Cyrus reported to be in a new episode of “Black Mirror”

Reports of Cyrus’ involvement surfaced after being spotted around Cape Town, South Africa, where her episode is allegedly being filmed

Reality is weird, and with their new season approaching, Black Mirror continues to eagerly expose that weirdness. Though a hypothetical exploration of “What if Pikachu was a detective?” has unfortunately already been taken, Mirror mastermind Charlie Brooker is making sure that one of the frightful futures he’s concocting for the new batch of episodes still offers something beyond the confines of what viewers thought possible in a Black Mirror episode: Miley Cyrus.

Reports of Cyrus’ involvement in the show surfaced after she was spotted around Cape Town, South Africa, which, according to Marriot Marketing Manager Avukile Mabombo, is where her episode for the new season is allegedly being filmed:

Though no official details have yet to be confirmed, worth noting in this scenario is Black Mirror’s previous journey to South Africa for filming, which resulted in “San Junipero”, the neon-drenched queer love story that’s often cited as among the best episodes the series has put out. Could a star-studded sequel be in the works? Or are Cyrus and the Mirror crew revisiting the equally terrifying tale of a world-famous teenage popstar who, desperate for the youth that her fame has stripped her of, uses a bad wig to live a double life as a high school student?

Regardless of which dystopia Miley plans to step into, it seems her South African detour is proving to be a much-needed vacation for the singer-actress following what her husband Liam Hemsworth called “a devastating few days” that saw the couple’s Malibu home succumb to the ongoing California wildfires:

It’s been a heartbreaking few days. This is what’s left of my house. Love. Many people in Malibu and surrounding areas in California have lost their homes also and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by these fires. I spent the day in Malibu yesterday and it was amazing to see the community pulling together to help each other out in any way they can. Malibu is a strong community and this event is only going to make it stronger. Thankful for the all the great local guys that helped keep smaller fires out around my property. I love u guys. I love you Malibu. Thank you to all the hero firefighters around California. It’s going to be a journey to rebuild. Stay strong all. To help/donate visit @malibufoundation and @happyhippiefdn
