Sexist Star Wars “fan” makes ‘de-feminized’ edit of The Last Jedi

The self-proclaimed ‘Chauvinist Cut’ is a sexist mess.

January 16, 2018

Love it or hate it (and a sizeable contingent of fans seem to hate it), The Last Jedi represents a bold lightspeed jump forward for Star Wars, with plot elements and surprises that you might not expect from a product of Disney Inc. Even those megafans who take issue with stuff like Super Leia  and ol’ milk-chugging Luke have to admit, at least it wasn’t the same old Star Wars: The Tropes Awaken.

Some fans, though, especially those who own >0 Pepe patches and whose YouTube recommendations are 100% Jordan Peterson videos, have problems with The Last Jedi  that no one should, like how the film is apparently replete with “girl powah.” One such MRA/anti-SJW crusader has taken it upon himself to (illegally) upload his own fan edit of the film, removing such problematic elements as “women are shown onscreen,” “women have speaking roles,” and “women are shown doing things.”

“The Last Jedi: De-Feminized Fanedit”was uploaded last week, and features a whole runtime of female-free, alt-right-approved Star Wars action. Also, it’s sub-DVD quality, 46 minutes long, and based on a cam rip. Sounds like a quality use of one’s time. Why anyone, even Pepe converts, would waste bandwidth downloading this thing is a mystery.

Cue appropriate Twitter reactions:

Let’s hope Episode VIII features a scene where Daisy Ridley instantly, effortlessly beats Kylo Ren in a lightsaber duel for maximum MRA outrage.
