They might say that money can’t buy happiness, but if you’re a fan of The Office, it can get you pretty damn close. How, you might ask? Well for a, er, generous amount of money, you can now recreate the Scranton branch of everyone’s favorite middling paper company, Dunder Mifflin, within the walls of you own home.
Prop auction service Screenbid has just thrown up over 500 different authentic set-pieces used over The Office’s nine seasons to be bid away on over the next ten days. And we ain’t just talking Oscar’s calculator here (though they do have that) – the selection is the real deal, offering a bevy of items ranging from the character-defining (Creed’s framed ‘Certificate of Having Been There’), the weirdly personal (a framed picture of Kevin and his fiancée), to the essential and downright heartwarming (Pam’s receptionist desk, AKA ground zero for her and Jim’s generation-defining romance).
Sure, the asking prices for these items ranges from the $150 ballpark for the more inconsequential items such as Angela’s mousepad all the way up to $3,500 for the aforementioned Desk of Eternal Love, but that’s what loans are for, right? Worst case scenario, even if you do blow all your savings on turning your home into New Scranton, look to Michael Scott for some advice when it comes to declaring bankruptcy.
