Last week, the Juno Awards dropped their list of nominations and much like the Polaris Prize, the shortlist offers a refreshing and unique reminder of the wealth of creative and diverse voices at play when it comes to our country’s music scene.

A peek at this year’s nominations highlights the artistic voice of the country’s new generation coming into its own, from the growing domination of the late-night XO Sound to refreshing, yet undeniably Canadian voices such as Hubert Lenoir.
