13 superstitious songs for Friday the 13th

How's your luck treating you today?

October 13, 2017

1. The fear of Friday the thirteenth.

I’m not exactly a superstitious person. There’s not a black cat I wouldn’t pet, I broke a mirror last week, and sometimes I walk under ladders on purpose.

But that doesn’t mean I don’t love Friday the 13th. Its origins are fascinating—though rooted in Christianity, its diversions, like Tuesday the 13th, or Friday the 17th, prove that bad luck is a versatile superstition. And so in celebration of today, Friday the 13th, we’ve put together what we think is the perfect soundtrack. Be sure to listen to it on the 13th floor of your office building for extra effect.
