Comic book nerdery and hip hop culture have always had a strong amount of unlikely overlap, from the Fantastic Four villain MF DOOM lifted his namesake from to Ghostface Killah’s alter ego Tony Starks. These worlds continue to collide as Marvel  announced yesterday a partnership with Universal Music that will see a number of hip-hop classics – among them GZA’s seminal Liquid Swords and 50 Cent’s breakthrough Get Rich Or Die Trying – reissued in limited-edition runs that see their iconic cover art smashed into Marvel’s world of superheroes.

What you may not know, however, is that these reissues take their Marvel mash-up covers from an line-wide initiative form a few years that saw all of the company’s titles have their own limited-edition covers inspired by classic hip-hop albums. Given that every comic being published at the time was given their own rap crossover cover, there’s dozens and dozens great gems to be found, and we’ve collected them all here for you to check out. Who knows, maybe your favourite rap album could be next in line to get the Marvel-ized vinyl treatment.
